When our family gets together for summer vacation in Fernandina, there is one thing we always have tons of...food! There is every kind of chip you can think of such as potato chips, pretzels, Doritos, cheese puffs, chee-tos, goldfish, cheese its, fri-tos, sun chips, and pringles. There is every kind of snack any kid would love from chocolate chip cookies, oreos, ice-cream, Popsicles, fruit, gogart, brownies, muffins, cupcakes, poptarts, ding dongs and candy bars. So no wonder our unexpected guest decided our kitchen was the best place to be. I guess he thought no one would notice since there are so many of us in and out the kitchen all day. But the people in our house have hair on their heads not all over their bodies. They also don't have long skinny tails and tiny little teeth. So when we noticed something scurry across the floor of the kitchen that didn't look like any of our relatives we took a closer look. We saw this little varmint nibbling on the dog food. We started screaming like crazy people. But "Pat the Rat" continued to nibble. I grabbed a plastic bowl and tried to capture him but missed. My big sister Peyton tried again and caught him. Then to make sure he wouldn't escape, we put two bricks on the plastic bowl and a jug a bleach. When dad got home we took Pat and made him a reservation in some woods next to a pond. All I can say is I hope Pat the Rat didn't invite any of his relatives to join him on his vacation at our beach house.

Do you still have that pet snake of yours? I think he would have helped get rid of your little visitor!

The beginning of your story was soooo vivid! You grabbed my attention and painted a delicious picture of all the goodies your family gets to eat! I can't wait to get back to writing with you! Enjoy your last weeks of summer! See you soon!
